Beacon Industries is experiencing steady growth and now has a need to hire a Master Scheduler that will organize and prioritize production on the shop floor companywide. The ideal candidate would have over 5 years of experience in production control, planning, expediting, or engineering, and have a solid understands the intricacies and challenges of a manufacturing floor.

Essential Functions:
The Master Scheduler (Production Planner) analyzes demand and supply at the item, customer, and master schedule levels, determines out-of-balance conditions, identifies alternatives and recommends actions for approval. Working with sales, marketing and manufacturing to better understand competitive lead times for master scheduled items, seeks ways to reduce internal lead times as well as lead times to the customer, while maximizing utilization of Beacon's manufacturing capacity and revenue generation therefrom.

Responsibilities:
Create, manage and maintain an integrated master production schedule that satisfies customer demand while leveling work to manufacturing, optimizing inventory levels and resource utilization.
Manage production orders: starts/release; date changes; order splitting; shortages.
Prioritize work at independent and shared work centers. Provide daily/weekly analysis and metrics for on-time delivery, capacity & planning, production constraints and work-arounds.
Serve as the focal point with Senior Management for all communications associated with the master schedule, on-time delivery, production capacity and planning and sales forecasts based on the master production schedule.
Interface with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and QA on issues and rescheduling.
Perform independent schedule risk assessments and mitigation planning; facilitate the resolution of material and manpower shortages, backlogs and other existing or potential schedule interruptions. Identify risks to production plan, evaluate the impact and resolve to remove risk.
Align material requirements with manufacturing capabilities, capacity and suppliers. Drive to root cause of material shortages and production misses and develop countermeasures. Establish and implement effective strategies to manage inventory levels.
Maintain MRP master data and processes, lot size, lead time, scrap rate.
Work with sales forecasts and backlog to derive an effective plan to achieve budgeted, on-time shipments while reducing lead-time to the customer.
Provide education and training throughout the facility with the goal of improving company-wide understanding of master scheduling functions, on-time delivery and production flow.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Extensive knowledge of Visual Manufacturing or Vantage ERP systems including the use of the production scheduling tools, calendar, and shop resources.
Experience with Shop Floor Control and capacity planning.
WAbility to shift priorities based upon business needs and demands.
Team player with good communication skills.
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft office suites.
